Stronger, fitter, freer - all after 40

If your health and energy have taken a back seat, and you’re ready to change that without giving up everything you love, welcome. You’re in the right place.

I’ve been on this path for a long time, but in my 40s, something shifted – I stopped chasing quick fixes and found a way of living that actually feels good. These days, I feel stronger, more in tune with my body, and more at ease than I did twenty years ago – all without giving up wine, chocolate, or joy to get there.

I’m Louisa (Anne) Chamberlain, a health and wellness coach with qualifications in nutrition and over a decade of personal and professional experience in this space. I help people build a life that supports strength, energy and freedom – without extremes or starting over every Monday.

Your best years are still ahead

Being over 40 doesn’t mean winding down – it means stepping into your most vibrant years with clarity, strength and purpose.

With the right structure and support, you can:

  • Build strength and reshape your body, without an all-or-nothing mindset
  • Improve energy, sleep, clarity, and focus
  • Let go of perfectionism and stay consistent, even on busy weeks
  • Eat in a way that’s satisfying and energising, without extreme restriction
  • Create habits and routines that support the identity you want to embody
  • Make room for joy, connection and rest – not just rules and restrictions

Each week, I share a short email sharing things I’m loving – ideas, tools and discoveries – and a plant-based recipe I’m enjoying.

Join here to get the emails and stay in the loop as new things unfold.

My story: when discipline and freedom finally made peace

For most of my life, I felt like two very different sides of me were constantly at war.

One was focused, disciplined, and committed to healthy routines. The other? She had a tendency to enjoy life a bit too much, including regular run-ins with binge eating and the kind of partying that never really leaves you feeling better. I’d go all in on health kicks – take the before photos, train hard, cut things I love out – then burn out, rebel and start again later.

I did every program, challenge, cleanse and reset under the sun – always hoping this one would finally ‘fix it.’ But what changed everything wasn’t another program. It was realising that I could stop chasing extremes, learn how to steer my own ship, and build a way of living that brought me joy, consistency and freedom. One where I’m in the driver’s seat, choosing my results based on the effort I’m willing to give, without guilt, without burnout and without needing to start over ever again.

Eventually, I realised that lasting change isn’t about picking sides – it’s about creating space for both.

A lifestyle that honours your goals and your pleasures. Where you can feel proud of your choices without feeling overly restricted or deprived.

Nutrition was the turning point

My blood pressure had been high since my teens, but I always assumed it was genetic and just ‘one of those things’. I stayed active, maintained a decent weight, and ate what I thought was a healthy, balanced diet. But in my early 30s, as I was about to be medicated for it, I knew I needed to look deeper.

Despite my doctor at the time insisting that nutrition had nothing to do with it, I began exploring a plant-based diet. To my surprise, my blood pressure came down naturally, and I felt better than ever.

That experience changed everything. It opened my eyes to how powerful lifestyle changes can be, not just for health, but also for energy, ethics and the planet.

From finance to health education and coaching

Before stepping into the health space, I spent over 15 years in the financial planning industry, helping clients prepare for life’s big unknowns. Over time, I saw just how central health is to everything else – energy, finances, freedom, fulfilment. Because let’s face it: if you don’t have your health, everything else becomes harder – or meaningless.

That insight led me down a new path. In 2015, I became fully plant-based after beginning my deep dive into health and nutrition the year before. A few years earlier, my dad (who has since passed) had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and as I continued learning, I started to better understand the relationship between lifestyle and long-term health outcomes. It wasn’t about control or perfection, but about becoming informed enough to make conscious decisions, knowing that nearly every choice comes with a trade-off.

Over the past few years, I’ve worked in the health education space, collaborating on impactful projects and helping people connect the dots between their daily habits and their wellbeing. I’m not here to tell anyone what they should do, but we all deserve the tools and knowledge to decide what matters most for ourselves.

I’m not about extremes or doing everything ‘perfectly’ – I’m about helping people create lives that align with their values, priorities and goals. That’s what real freedom looks like to me.
